Program Summary
SuitUp organized and facilitated [x number] of competitions with Ares interns and students from across the U.S.
In the summer of 2018, Ares Management participated in a competition in-person with students from the Go Project. The challenge was simple: create a new product or service for Apple. Overall, 33 volunteers were engaged and 31 students were served. There were no goals for how many volunteers/students to join so there was no accurate “attendance” rate.
In the summer of 2019, Ares Management participated in another competition with students from Camp AMS. Volunteers and students worked together to create a new product for Nike. There were 22 volunteers and 30 students. Again, there was no goal for students/volunteers so there is no accurate “attendance” rate.
In the summer 2020, Ares Management did a virtual competition with Baychester Middle School on June 19th. Students collaborate with their coaches to create a new product for Nike. There were 30 volunteers and 30 students. This totaled into a 75% attendance rate with students.
In 2021 Ares Management did a virtual competition with the Academy of Warren Charter school on February 9th. 20 Students and 18 Volunteers worked together to create a new wellness product for the black-owned business of their choice to help alleviate symptoms and raise awareness around mental health. There were no goals for how many volunteers/students to join so there was no accurate “attendance” rate.
In 2022, Ares Management did two competitions, one on June 7th with 19 students and 9 volunteers, and one on June 9th with 21 students and 11 Volunteers. One was with Rosa Parks Community school and Oakwood Avenue Community school to create a new product for Nike. The other was with Orange High School and also created a new product for Nike. There were no goals for how many volunteers/students to join so there was no accurate “attendance” rate.
